Alii Artichoke Casserole Recipe

Origin: Italian      Period: Traditional

Ingredients:

900g fresh spinach, chopped
900g tinned artichoke hearts, drained
240g cream cheese
120g butter
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
1/8 tsp Tabasco sauce
1 tbsp lemon juice
80g seasoned breadcrumbs

Alii Artichoke Casserole Preparation:


Method:

Blanch the spinach and drain well. Melt the butter in a saucepan and add the cream cheese. Season and add the lemon juice and spinach, making sure you mix after each addition. Place a layer of artichokes in a 2l casserole dish then a layer of the spinach mixture, a layer of the artichokes and finally the remaining spinach mixture. Top with the breadcrumbs and place in an oven pre-heated to 180°C and bake for 30 minutes.
