Original RecipeVerde Sawſe (from Ashmole MS 1439)Take p̲ſel. mynt. garlek, a litul serpell and ſawge, a litul canel, gyngr. pi̲. wyne. brede. vynegr et ſalt grynde it ſmal wt ſafronn et meſſe it forth.

250g finely-chopped fresh herbs (parsley, thyme, tarragon, mint, savory, marjoram) Method:PreparationFinely-chop the herbs and garlic. Add all the other ingredients, mix well and then leave to infuse for half an hour. Stir again and serve either with sliced French bread or with sliced roast meat. |
