English TranslationAccording to folklore the men of Ceredigion (Cardiganshire) are the most tight fisted (careful with their money) in Wales. They would use anything to save a few bob. This is a case of using traditional cattle feed (rolled oats) to bulk-out a breakfast for humans. Ingredients:
2 tbsp rolled oats Method:Mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl then add just enough milk to bind them together. Shape the mixture into four small cakes and fry in bacon fat until browned on all sides. Traditionally this is served at breakfast time with fried bacon, eggs and tomatoes. |
