English TranslationIngredients:
60g plain flour Method:Combine the apples, 2 tbsp sugar and a little water in a saucepan. Bring to a simmer and stew until the apples are tender (but not smooth). Take off the heat and set aside to cool. In the meantime, melt the butter in a pan. Add the flour and mix into the melted butter to form a roux. Now add the milk a little at a time and stir in to form a fairly thick sauce then bring the mixture to a boil and beat until smooth. Transfer the sauce into a bowl then add the vanilla extract and egg yolks. Beat thoroughly to combine. In a separate bowl beat the egg yolks until they form stiff peaks then fold into the white sauce mixture. Grease a baking dish and cover the base with the stewed apples before pouring the egg mixture over the top. Transfer to an oven pre-heated to 180°C and bake for about 40 minutes, or until heated through and the top is golden brown. Serve hot with custard |
