Original Recipe

Cynhwysion:

60g of flawd plaen
30g o siwgwr
45g o fenyn
2 ŵy, wedi gwahanu
300ml i 450ml o lefrith
2 afal coginio wedi plicio, creiddio a thorri'n ddarnau
2 llwy fwrdd o swigwr
1/2 llwy de o hinsawdd famila

Cyfunwch yr a falau, 2 llwy fwrdd o siwgwr ac ychydig o ddŵr mewn sosban. Dewch a'r cyfan i fud-ferwi a stiwiwch nes yn feddal cyn tynnu oddi ar y gwres a'i adael o'r neillyu i oeri.

Yn y cyfamser toddwch y menyn mewn padell. Ychwanegwch y blawd, gan ei gymysgu i'r menyn i wneud roux yna ychywnegwch y llefrith ychydig ar y tro. Cyfunwch i wneud saws gweddol drwchys yna dewch a'r cyfan i ferwi a curwch nes yn llyfn. Trosglwyddwch y saws i fowlen ac ychwangwch yr hinsawdd famila a'r menlynwy ŵy. Curwch yn dda i gymysgu. Mewl powlen arall curwch y gwynwy nes eu bod yn ffurfoi coapon trwchus yna plygwch i fewn i'r gymysgfa saws gwyn.

Irwch ddesgil pobi a rhoddwch yr afalau yn y gwaelod yna tywalltwch y cymysgfa wyau m ei ben. Trosglwyddwch i bobty wedi ei gyn-gynhesu i 180°C a chraswch am tua 40 miunud nes ei fod wedi coginio drywodd a bod pen y pwdin yn euraidd. Gweinwch gyda chwstad fanila.

English Translation

Ingredients:

60g plain flour
30g sugar
45g butter
2 eggs, separated
300 to 450ml milk
2 cooking apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
2 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract


Method:

Combine the apples, 2 tbsp sugar and a little water in a saucepan. Bring to a simmer and stew until the apples are tender (but not smooth). Take off the heat and set aside to cool.

In the meantime, melt the butter in a pan. Add the flour and mix into the melted butter to form a roux. Now add the milk a little at a time and stir in to form a fairly thick sauce then bring the mixture to a boil and beat until smooth. Transfer the sauce into a bowl then add the vanilla extract and egg yolks. Beat thoroughly to combine. In a separate bowl beat the egg yolks until they form stiff peaks then fold into the white sauce mixture.

Grease a baking dish and cover the base with the stewed apples before pouring the egg mixture over the top. Transfer to an oven pre-heated to 180°C and bake for about 40 minutes, or until heated through and the top is golden brown. Serve hot with custard
