English TranslationThis is a rich fruit cake traditionally served with teas after a funeral. But it's a good recipe suitable to be served at any time! Ingredients:
240g plain flour Method:Mix all the dry ingredients together then add the egg. Mix thoroughly and begin adding the milk a little time. You want the final consistency to be about that of a cake batter. Tip the batter into a greased loaf pan and place in an oven pre-heated to 160°C. Bake for about 1 hour, or until the cake is nicely coloured and a skewer inserted into the centre of the cake emerges cleanly. Allow to cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving with plenty of butter. |
