Ericsson (Telefonaktiebolaget L. M. Ericsson), founded in 1876 and headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, is a leading provider of communications networks, related services and handset technology platforms. Through the Sony-Ericsson joint venture, they are also a major provider of handsets. Ericsson is a provider in the area of 2G (GSM) and 3G (WCDMA/HSPA) mobile networks. Ericsson is actively involved in the development of standards for the Long-Term Evolution (LTE) of 3G. Since its joint venture with Sony to produce Sony-Ericsson Ericsson no longer manufactures its own mobile (cellular) phones, but legacy handsets include: GA628, A1018, T28, T39, T66, T68, R310s, R380, R520 and R600.
