The image above is a poiitical map of West Africa. The journey Stefan took, first by herself and then with her infant son covers more than 1000km from Liberia in the extreme south-west of the region, through Sierra Leone, Guinea, the edge of Guinea-Bissau then through Senegal to the Gambia and finally to Dakar in Senegal.

During this time (late 1990s early 200s) Liberia had fallen into civil war, as did Sierral Leone and Guinea-Bissau was just recovering from a civil war. This was not a journey for a single woman to make on her own. But somehow Stefan managed to make it, survive being badly beaten, have a child and look after that child until she made the political stability of Senegal. But like all refugees she has no political status there and cannot even obtain work to pay for herself and her child. I am supporting her in this sense but because of this and the other things I have paid for I cannot help her to be re-united with her father, now dying in Sierra Leone. Please, if you have found this site useful help repay me for the many hours spent constructing this site by helping Stefan see her father one more time.

If would truly be a miracle if you, the visitors to this site could help for her father's treatment. But I do not expect that. If you have just $1 spare than I implore you to donate it to this cause. Help onoe woman come to terms with her past and begin the process of re-building her life again.
