Lehrennus is a deity known from inscriptional evidence found at Ardiège (where a temple was dedicated to him [20 inscriptons]) and at Franquevielle (1 inscription, AE 1978, 480), both in the Haute-Garonne region of France. At Ardiège he is invoked as Mars Leherennus but at Franquevielle he is invoked alone, without the Interpretato Romana.
The etymology of the deity's name is uncertain, but it has been proposed that it may be derived from the reconstructed proto-Celtic root *s(φ?)lad-e/o- (strike) and thus Leherennus' name may have the meaning of 'He Who Strikes' or 'The Striker'. Along with his assimilation to Mars this would make him a warrior deity.
