Eiddilig Gorr is known from two triads (72 and appendix IV) of the Trioedd Ynys Prydein. In the first of these, triad 72 he, along with Drystan is numbered along with Drystan as one of the 'three stubborn men of the Island of Britain'. In appendix IV of the 'Trioedd' Eiddilig, again along wth Drystan mab Tallwch is named as one of the three enchanter knights of the Island of Britain. It may well be that Eiddilig was Drystan's teacher in terms of enchantment whilst the former was at Arthur's court (see Drystan ac Esyllt).
Eiddilig Gorr's name can be literally translated as meaning 'Slender the Dwarf' though its true meaning is probably more like 'Tiny the Dwarf' with the Middle Cymric eiddil used for 'small' rather than 'weak, slender'; whose main powers obviously lay in his enchantments rather than his stature.
