Corrigan is a Breton fairy known from folklore where she is said to be an ancient druidess with a fondness for human children. She may well represent the survival into folklore af a lost or forgotten goddess.

Corrigan, according to the folklore of Brittany is a female færy. She is said to have been one of the ancient druidesses, and therefore malicious towards Christian priests. Corrigan is fond of pretty human children, and is usually blamed for all changeling substitutions.

Her name is derived from cor (dwarf or small) and rigan (queen) and therefore means 'Little Queen'. This may represent another example of the diminution of an ancient goddess (possibly Rigantona in the Christian age, in the same way that the god Lugos becomes the Irish leipreachán [leprechaun] (little bent Lug).
