λογοσ

by Dyfed Lloyd Evans
Logos — words of Cosmos
Yielding light
Dispel Chaos
Birthing order.

Terror

by Dyfed Lloyd Evans
Terror, ice-bright
Shredding conviction
killing certainty
Occluding all.

The beast of self

by Dyfed Lloyd Evans
Daimon beast
Lurking in the dark
Prowling deep
Beyond reason’s grasp.

Alone on a Mountain

by Dyfed Lloyd Evans
Alone,
On the mountain ridge
Contemplating cloudscapes
Being other

Reason

by Dyfed Lloyd Evans
Reason,
A fleeting shadow
Lancing through confusion
Cleansing the mind

Opposed Thumbs

by Dyfed Lloyd Evans
Thumbs,
The wondrous tool
Which made us what we are
An analytic ape

The poems presented here are part 1 of a collection I wrote (see part 2 of the collection) that is a fusion of Japanese Haiku and Cymric englynion. The point is to create four-stanza poems with limited syllables that have internal structure, an internal counterpoint and which can also stir the senses and the emotions in the conjunction of their brevity and complexity.
