Celtnet.org.uk prides itself on being an ethical site. We believe in telling you about any information collected about you.

We absolutely do not collect information about our website visitors such as names, addresses, telephone numbers, or email addresses — unless, of course, you specifically give Celtnet.org.uk that information by filling-in a form or submitting the information to a database. Even then all information you submit is encrypted so that only you and the site's administrator can access it..

Spam e-mail ia nuisance and a real problem. I hate spam and I'm sure you do, too. As a result we never, ever, sell or otherwise make available email addresses to anyone (unike other sites we do our own e-mail marketing and email shots so no third party is ever involved in seeing your information. We never, ever, post your email address on any page in this site so that it can never be gleaned by malicious spiders.

This is a marketing site that makes it's income through donations, sales, pay-per-click and sign-ups. We need to know which parts of our site are performing well and which are languishing in the doldrums. As a result your IP address and country of origin as well as the pages you visit are collected in our log files (this is done by over 90% of websites, but they never tell you about it. These logs are only used to determine how visitors access different areas of the site and for no other reason after 12 months the raw logs are destroyed.

Celtnet Affiiates Forum and Articles

When you post a message to the forum or to the articles site your IP number is automatically collected (you will already have signed-up to the sites). Our aim is to run a good and informative site and cookies are used to recognize you if you return to the forums.

Why do this? Well, the forum and the Articles section have guidelines and I want them to be safe places for people to post and share information in a friendly way. If you post anything illegal, tell deliberate lies, or totally ignore the forum guidelines then we will post your IP number and e-mail address as a deterrent. A number of users have been baned from the site for being malicious troublemakers but we have not had to take the ultimate step of publicizing a troublemaker's details, as yet (and I hope never to have to do so). I am determined to keep this site a safe and friendly place for adults to share information about the various topics handled on this website.
